Sweet Onion Express grew from a small business deep in the heart of Georgia’s Vidalia Onion growing area. Grown only in a state designated area and only by certified growers, the popularity of this sweet onion grew very quickly.Since our beginning, in the early 1990’s, we have shipped only the highest quality onions from each harvest. Because we provide only quality products and superior customer service, we now have thousands of customers all over the United States. Some of our customers write or call as early as January asking “When will those Vidalia Onions be ready this year?”
In addition to sweet onions, we offer a variety of items - seasonings, cooking utensils, party packs, and an exceptional line of fruits and vegetables.
About Vidalia Sweet Onions
In 1931 a farmer in Vidalia, Georgia, planted onions and these were found to be unexpectedly sweet. Word spread about these onions and the demand grew. These onions rose to fame and today Georgia is home to more that 12,000 acres of Vidalia Sweet Onions each season.About Texas Sweet Onions
Sweet onions have been planted in deep south Texas for many years. One of the better known varieties is the Texas 1015 onion developed by Texas A & M University in 1986. We've even gone a step further and perfected the 1015 with our Rio Sweet variety. This has established south Texas as an alternate source of sweet onion varieties with morethan 14,000 acres each season.
